  • Deethanization compressor station of Vostochno-Urengoisky licensed site;
  • Gas cooling station of Vostochno-Urengoisky licensed site.

Deethanization compressor station.

Deethanization compressor station is a part of complex of major industrial purpose of the gas processing plant of Vostochno-Urengoisky licensed site gas production enterprise, located in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of Tumen oblast, in the area of the city of Novy Urengoy.

Deethanization compressor station is located at the area of condensate stabilization unit site. Deethanization compressor station is built completely during the 1st stage of construction.

Compression of de-ethanized gas, supplied from 4 process lines of condensate stabilization unit, is carried out in deethanization compressor station.

Compression of de-ethanized gas takes place in one stage at 4 compressors.

Deethanization compressor station is a machine room with compressor equipment installed in it and outdoor platform with air coolers and separators.

After compression at dethanization compressor station and cooling in the air cooler of outdoor installation, de-ethanized gas with temperature not more than 34°С and pressure of 5.55 MPag is fed to mixing of gas of Gas processing plant No.1 with gas of Gas processing plant No.2 of Novo-Urengoy licensed site, and then sent to the gas cooler as a refrigerant.

Auxiliary fluids for the process are:

  • Sealing gas;
  • Nitrogen;
  • Instrument air.

With constant operation of compressor, refinery gas, which is taken off from common discharge line of compressors of deethanization compressor station, is used as sealing gas. Deethanization compressor station working time – from 2015 to 2039.

Gas Cooling Station.

Gas cooling station is included in booster compressor station no. 1.

Condensate stabilization unit, in its turn, is included in the complex of major industrial purpose of the gas processing plant of Vostochno-Urengoisky licensed site gas production enterprise, located in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of Tumen oblast, in the area of the city of Novy Urengoy.

Gas cooling station is aimed at cooling of processed sales gas before its feeding to gathering gas pipelines system of OOO Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy.

Gas cooling is carried out at four identical process lines with rated capacity of 3.6 bln std.m3/year.


Gas cooling station includes the following:

  • Two turbo-expanding gas cooling stations (No. 1 for the 1st line and No.2 for the 2nd line);
  • Two outdoor gas cooling stations No.1 and No. 2

The machine room is a heated premises of block-and-modular execution with ventilated crawl space. Two turbo-expanders (one for each process line), piping and valves are installed in each machine room.

Outdoor station is an area, where air cooler, heat exchangers of compressed gas cooling and separators for potential liquid trapping are installed.

Two flows are fed to gas cooling station inlet:

  • Mixture of gasses from of Gas processing plant No.1 and No.2;
  • Compressed gas from booster compressor station No. 1.

Cooling process procedure of gas compressed at booster compressor station No.1 involves usage of adiabatic gas expansion effect in turbo-expander, energy generated by the turbo-expander is used in the compressor of the turbo-expander for cooled gas booster. For more efficient turbo-expanding assembly operation, preliminary cooling of gas is provided at each process line, it is carried out with the help of air cooler and heat exchange with twisted tubes. Cooled gas is fed to gathering gas pipelines systems of OOO Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy.
